Responsibilities of the government including law and rules

Democratic government focuses on making policies that is more sensitive to the needs of the commoners. The government has a responsibility to power citizens economically so that they can meet their basic needs like better education, better health care, improvement if infrastructure. Above all the main role of the government is to protect its citizen from all dangers. Below are some of the main responsibilities if a government are:- • Maintained of law and order • Protection of lives and properties • Promote democracy and social justice • Provision of economic development • Provision of social welfare services • Protection of human rights • Providing employment opportunities. Despite all this it comes down to an individual itself to find the balance between societal needs and individual needs. When this balance is found the society gets more friendly and cooperative, this can lead to a better future generations. However, the oath from self-centeredness to being an active member of family, community or society and doing ones fair share can be long. But if one does achieve this balance the individual will experience a massive growth in sense of connection to others, self-worth and will be more satisfied with life. Here are some tips fir achieving the balance between individual interests and societal interest. • Performing random acts of kindness. • Try doing small favors for people who are important for you and finding how satisfied that you helped them. • Consider what is on the minds of your closest people. How they feel about a certain matter? What is important for them? Even if balance is achieved there are some drain and loses in societies. Notable losses include poverty and discrimination. Poverty s living o poor conditions like without shelter or food. Being jobless is also considered as poverty too. Democracy doesn’t depend on a specific individual but it depends on all of us. Freedom is not just being free but responsibilities and right do come with it. For a better democracy civic education is needed. Civic education can be defined as purposeful and systematic effort t develop the skills and dispositions or function effectively as citizen in their communities as well as in the larger world. The purpose is to both develop understanding and judgment about public issues and to contribute to guided and informed decisions and actions through deliberation public talk and dialogue. (Boggs 1991) In other words civic is the study of rights and duties of citizenship. Or to put it simply it is the study of government with attention to the role of citizens as opposed to external factors in the operation and oversight of government.
